My finished preliminary products

I think that my front cover is barely passable, but definately has a large room for improvement in order to recieve a good grade. I think this because there is not a lot of visual effects on either the cover or the contents, aswell as the fact that a lot of the text can be seen as illegibal. This is due to the fact that I decided on a fading lilac on white background, which makes the cover story (which I foolishly put in light gray) is almost completely unreadable against it. Another problem is that it lacks aesthetic appeal, due to a lack of photos or difference in text across both pages.

Overall then, I believe that a lot needs to be done in order to make my work get a good grade.

My initial ideas

To begin with, I decided that I was going to do a music magazine that has a more lifestyle feel to it, like NME and Uncut, which will give it a more broader appeal to a larger audience.
I have chosen to do his specific type of music magazine, because I have a deep interest in music, yet I also like lifestyle and a such, I have a feeling that I will be able to make this very simply. However, as I am creating a new magazine, I will be designing it in my own unique way, by adding things that are synonymous of me. However, as I can't really explain what they are, I won't try to. This dosen't mean, though, that they won't be there though.

Below are some examples of some magazines that I will be taking inspiration from:
